Abba Dabba Do! #2

#2 Fat Matters

Hello My Dear!

If you’ve ever salivated over someone’s flat, or washboardabs – this might be a useful breakdown of items to check off the list if you’d like to have more of that for yourself.

#2 Fat Matters

Ok!  So this, “might”, be obvious to most, but my sense is that how this would be approached best is not.

In order to either have a svelte midsection, or to have definition in your abdominal region, you CAN’T have a lot of fat on your belly!

Where MANY start to put their energy to burn off some extra pounds is on the area that they’d actually like to have less fat on, and in this situation, it is NOT the smartest move.

When you want to create the most bang for your buck energy expenditure wise, you must:

A) do something that is cardiovascularly challenging, that also uses much of your body

and/or

B) resistance exercises with larger muscle groups = challenging weights with less rest, or high intensity intervals

**Abs are smaller muscles, which is why they can be trained every day, and why they burn out rather quickly when we do challenge them.  And training smaller muscles does NOT use a lot of energy.

We will talk about exercise for this region tomorrow, but in the meantime – aim to expend more energy by doing longer cardio sessions (walking, running, rowing, swimming…), or higher intensity stuff that uses big muscle groups that has brief periods of rest, or uses a circuit format (rest what you just used while you’re working something else).

I will also talk about spot reduction tomorrow, as I actually believe it’s possible to do this to an extent, but IN GENERAL – if you need to lose fat on your belly, you will need to be addressing it EVERYWHERE.

So exercise can be a great outlet to up your calorie expenditure, but the truly BEST way to lose fat is through DIET.

If you’d like to check out a program that is focused on burning the fuel that you’d like to have less of on your abdomen (and perhaps everywhere else) – Fat Burning Mastery might be worth a look.

To getting you clearer on how the body works, & how to make it work for you.
