Benefits of Being Hungry – #4. Blood Sugar & Insulin

Hello Darling One!

Ummmm, have you heard my incessant song about why we fat burners use Bulletproof Coffee and do intermittent fasting daily??

Well this is why (if you’ve yet to hear, listen to a call on the matter here).

Every time you eat your blood sugar elevates and yes, even if you’re eating vegetables/meat/something that doesn’t even involve carbs.

Each time your blood sugar rises, your body releases insulin to move that glucose into muscle cells to be used for fuel.

Awesome. Great. Thank you.

However, the two highly detrimental byproducts of this (especially if you give a crap about your waistline and HEALTH at ALL), is that repeated act logically results in MORE insulin in your system overall.

Note to self: Insulin is a fat storage hormone.

Using it as nature intended = bueno.

Overusing it = more stored fat.

Additionally when we keep asking for insulin we need more and more of it to do the same job that a smaller amount would have sufficed some time ago.

Our cells are at risk to develop something called insulin resistance, where they’ve literally become immune to the, “noise”, of insulin banging at their door asking to store more glucose in the form of fat when our cup has runneth over.

More Insulin = more fat.

More Insulin resistance = easier to gain weight and harder to lose it.

If you’d like to see where you fall on the spectrum of Sugar Burning (where many have SOME degree of Insulin resistance – which can be CHANGED) vs Fat Burning, check out this questionnaire.
