Why “Sin & Repentance” Are Actually Freeing

Hello Dear One!

If both of these words strike fear into your heart, or make you wish to internally pull away – please lend me your ear.

(Hear the Unbound Podcast episode on this here.)

I am NOT a religious person, but at times, the offer to come together to worship something higher and be inspired is VERY attractive to me.

I ended up going to a girlfriend’s church service with her last Sunday and got exponentially more than I bargained for,

In the service there was a HUGE reframe of SIN and REPENTANCE.

Sin was shown to be not the things that are considered, “bad”, or “FUN”, but the part of us that we hide.  That we feel ashamed of.  That we feel vulnerable about.

And that the ACT of hiding keeps this silent driver at the wheel resulting in less than desirable or ideal behavior (ACCORDING TO US, not anyone else).

Additionally CONFESSION was shared to be sharing of this dark spot in you that feels unacceptable/etc, and that it is the shining of the light of love/God/Jesus/attention that unburdens an individual and FREES us and HEALS us by the simple act of giving voice and attention to what we most wish to keep to ourselves.

REPENTANCE is not self flagellation, but instead it’s a change of mind/heart/awareness AS A RESULT of CONFESSING and showing where we feel weak/broken.

And LASTLY, the greatest reason why this is such a useful process in the first place is because SIN (painful parts that we keep to ourselves) mess with our ABILITIES and our PURPOSE.

How AMAZING is all that??!?

One thing I wish to brag is that there is a component in Fat Burning Mastery (and that I do with my coaching clients) called Spring Cleaning, which essentially is like CONFESSION!!

And the reason why we do it, is because of all the benefits that this Pastor mapped out for myself and his congregation on Sunday.

This practice is liberating and transformative, and I’m so grateful to have had the reframe at that church, and to recognize what we do both in Fat Burning Mastery and in coaching is indeed healing.

The truth is verbally unburdening oneself in a safe container not only feels WONDERFUL, but it also helps prevent the mindless, compulsive behavior that we might struggle with more often than not.

Especially in the realm of emotional eating.

If you’d like to check out a more thorough explanation of these concepts and my experience, please check out the latest episode of the Unbound Podcast here.

If you’d like to know more about the freeing biological state of fat burning, please learn to burn here.

If Fat Burning Mastery sounds even more seductive based on hearing more of what it entails, please learn about that here.

And if coaching programs that (once again) use the transformative practice of Spring Cleaning (ie: CONFESSION), please check out some offerings on the matter here.
