How to NOT Gain Weight Over the Holidays

Hello Dear One!

First of all, did you know that, “THE HOLIDAYS”, actually officially runs between Halloween and New Years?!?

This sharing may be late in the game, but the truth is due to my own recent party circuit, I saw how the likelihood of holiday weight gain could be VERY real indeed.

So a few concepts that will carry you far in the world of health and weight loss/management while feeling satisfied, NOT DEPRIVED, or riddled with REGRET following.

1. THE MAJORITY RULES

IN GENERAL, but certainly for our purposes.

Please take this deeply to heart, as it will hopefully have you NEVER fully take your hands off the wheel and say, “Screw it.”.

So even though you might have parties/festive dinners Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week (and MORE opportunities or TREATS could always get passed your way, right?!?) = it’s INCREDIBLY useful to take advantage of the time between these outings.

And what I mean by that is both look at the WEEK, and look at the DAY.

Truth is, dealing with FEASTS is what Fat Burners have been biologically set up for (actually ALL bodies have this predisposition for SURVIVAL – learn more about the 5 Parts of Fat Burning here).

What that means is that we can enjoy the bounty of a feast, and simply dial back (COMFORTABLY) around it.

Now Sugar Burners can also use this awareness and make a point to eat the indulgent food (AND MORE OF IT!) at the celebrations – and aim to keep things on the tamer side on days without the festivities.

But what Fat Burners CAN and DO do, is to use Intermittent Fasting to their benefit ESPECIALLY around feasts.

We talk about this in Fat Burning Mastery, where MOST days our Fat Burners eat two times a day (COMFORTABLY), but on bigger deal party days – we often eat once.

And truth be told this makes your dinner or event (complete with cocktails – more on that shortly) FAR more manageable calorically AND mentally – as the point to is make sure you get full, and FULL is what most attain at a celebration.

2. HANDLING CARBS

This plays into the MAJORITY RULES too, but with a slightly more refined marker.

What we’re aiming to do here is to make sure we feel satisfied, NOT DEPRIVED, and NOT regretful after any given thing, especially this time of year.

A great rule with carbs is to ask yourself, “Do I REALLY want this?  Do I LOVE this??”.

And if the answer is no, please walk away.

This might feel MUCH easier at this moment in time as well because there are SO MANY of them EVERYWHERE.  You can have your pick of the litter at any given event, so you do NOT need to compromise on an item that doesn’t blow your mind.

Fat Burners also use the biological indicators we keep tabs on to let us know WHERE we are biologically, so THAT can be useful feedback if we start to stray a bit too far.

3. BOOZE RULES

[Please refer to one of the latest blogposts on Hangover Helpers (or podcast by the same name) to get ALL the specifics if desired.]

Some general guidelines:

1A)
Pick a Less Polluted Poison (less toxins for your body to manage)

– highly distilled clear spirits are the best

OR

2A) Get the Most Bang for Your Buck (alcohol to calories)

– champagne or sparkling wine, then dry whites, followed by dry reds

(champagne cocktails anyone?)

B) DRINK Your Drink Like This

How to drink BETTER!

C) Drink LOADS of WATER

– will help your body excrete toxins more easily

D) Take Vitamin C
when commencing drinking, and have either 1 Activated Charcoal capsule with each drink or 4 at the end of the night.

– will prevent the feeling of being hungover, stave off the aging effects of alcohol, and get toxins out of your body FAST

– I’ll also say using this approach has helped me to NOT want to EAT AGAIN LATER!!!  Which is REVOLUTIONARY, as blood sugar spikes with alcohol and then plummets sometime thereafter often making us desire MORE FOOD.

(Fat Burners also have the added benefit of their liver being super supported which aids in this detoxification game DAILY! – learn more about that and Fat Burning Mastery)

So I think that’s it.

Truth be told to help yourself not gain weight over the holidays you could also eat minimally at parties and not stray from your typical diet – BUT PEOPLE DON’T DO THAT.

This approach takes into account WHAT’S HAPPENING and our DESIRE to PARTICIPATE.

Intermittent Fasting is probably one’s Best Friend when feasts are aplenty (listen to why that’s such a magical technique along with using Bulletproof Coffee on the Unbound Podcast).

And the thing that’s also so marvelous about Intermittent Fasting is when one is in a Fat Burning mode the body is naturally LESS HUNGRY so widening that window and waiting until the feast a little later is not only possible but it feels EASY.

Hope this feels useful for Sugar Burners and Fat Burners alike.

The more conscious we are when there’s deviation in our life the more we can HAPPILY and STRATEGICALLY understand how to have our cake and eat it too.

To getting you clearer on how the body works, and how to make it work for you.
