What to do About Conflicting Information

If you’ve ever wanted to rip out your own hair due to hearing about another RIGHT way to get what you need in the realm of weight loss – this post might prove useful.

Low carb, no carb, low fat, high fat, high protein, vegan, paleo, keto, dairy free, gluten free, sugar free, several small meals, intermittent fasting, working out fasted, drinking coffee, avoiding caffeine…

It can feel maddening to know what’s TRUE when there’s so much that seems to contradict itself.

Here are some ways to navigate the madness and create some peace of mind.

1) START WHERE YOU ARE

You have to start somewhere, so let’s begin precisely where you’re positioned.  You’re probably doing a certain number of things that you have a handle on how they’re affecting you (good OR bad) – could use more water, know you feel great when you eat earlier in the eve, love fish, adore how strength training makes you feel…

Keep some of what you’ve come to know to be useful or not – and move from there.

2)  FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT

Is it to lose weight as fast as possible?  Do you want to have more energy?  Is spending tons of time in the gym something you’d love to do?  Are you thinking about a plant based diet for reasons of morality/health/weight loss or because it actually tastes and feels better to you?

GET CLEAR and that can help you zero in on figuring out where to look for the solution you desire.

3) TRUSTED ADVISORS

We HAVE to trust someone – brands or individuals, for if we don’t we won’t have anywhere to turn when we have a pressing question.

If you don’t yet – pick someone you’ve turned to in the past and start to drill down around their background or philosophy and see where you find truth (as far as you see it or know it), OR look to someone you follow or a friend you have faith in and see who they listen to.  And why.

4). READ THEIR STUFF

Start to study ONE person mostly to see what they’re saying and if it resonates with you.  Follow them until it doesn’t.  Or if it doesn’t as much, add another voice to the mix and see what you learn.

 

 

5). LIVING LABORATORY

When in interest AND wonder – TEST!

One thing I’ve lived myself and encourage my Fat Burner’s when in doubt is to TRY and see how _____ treats them.

Of course there are tried and true cornerstones in the lifestyle of Fat Burning – but then there are instances where the outcome for a choice is unclear.

When that is the case I encourage my Fat Burner’s to see how a particular food/way of exercising/sleep pattern/etc treats them and depending on that to either USE it again or LOSE it.

And because they’ve been taught HOW to tell if their body’s in a Fat Burning mode or not – it’s very simple for them to make ongoing decisions as to what’s useful in the effort or NOT based on being well versed in deciphering their own body’s signals.

How FREEING.
