How to Prevent Lower Back & Shoulder Pain

Hello Dear One!

Do you wrestle with a lower back that could, “go out”, at a moment’s notice or have shoulders that frequently feel sore or get hurt more often than not?

If so, you’re not alone.

MOST people wrestle with lower back pain or have dealt with shoulder issues depending on their lifestyle.

Here are 3 simple things to do to help do away with pain and also prevent the likelihood of injuring them in casual affairs.

LOWER BACK:

The cause of MOST muscular pain is weakness.

So the most obvious remedy in this prescription is STRENGTH.

Tip #1:  Strengthening your lower back and KEEPING it strong is the best way to remain pain free.

How to?

And ideally you’re doing this 3 times a week for 15 reps.

It can feel like nothing, but trust me on the fact that it adds up to a LOT.

Tip #2:  The other crucial component in this equation is posture or position.

In reality pain due to crappy posture is still a matter of strength, but let’s give ourselves a fighting chance shall we??

The simplest cue to help is to keep your joints stacked and not slouch up a storm whether standing

and ESPECIALLY when siting!

Also think about sticking out your butt and picking up your chest to make this alignment even simpler.

And when you’re bending over to pick something up keep your eyes FORWARD, as this will keep the back flat and in a safer state as well.

SHOULDERS:

As someone who’s partially separated (high school track and swim) and then dislocated (trampoline park) the same shoulder I KNOW how important it is to keep this joint STRONG if you want to stay functional and comfortable.

Tip #3:  Strengthen the rotator cuff muscles to keep the joint strong and stable and PAIN FREE.

Here is another quick exercise that should be done ideally a few times a week as well, OR even every day if things are in a bad way.

I hope that was useful.

Know that we NEED to stay strong to not get hurt, and if you KNOW there’s a part of you that chronically DOES get hurt…it needs to be STRENGTHENED.
